Several flights cancelled due to inclement weather

(Eagle News) — Several flights were cancelled on Friday due to inclement weather. The Manila International Airport Authority said the cancelled flights were PAL Express 2P 2261/2262 Manila-Naga-Manila; 2P 2014/2015 Manila-Tuguegarao- Manila; and Cebu Pacific 5J 196/197 Manila-Cauayan-Manila. PAGASA warns that rains may last until Friday

QUEZON City, Philippines – The Philippine Atmospheric Geophysical Astronomical Services Administration told the public to expect the rains to last until Friday due to the effect of the southwest monsoon or “habagat”. PAGASA added that Metro Manila, Ilocos Region, Cordillera Administrative Region, Zambales, Bataan, Cavite, Batangas and Mindoro may suffer heavy rainfall and floods. The country’s weather bureau also warned the public about the possible recurrence of tornadoes like what struck Tondo, Manila yesterday, August 14.

Tornado destroys homes in Baseco Compound

QUEZON City, Philippines (Eagle News) — A tornado wrecked havoc in the Baseco Compound, Tondo, Manila, yesterday, August 14. The tornado damaged 200 homes and resulted in a resident suffering injuries. The tornado formed in the sea due to the inclement weather brought by the “habagat”.
