(Eagle News)–A 4.6-magnitude earthquake struck Cotabato on Thursday, Oct. 31. The Philippine Institute of Volcanology and Seismology said the quake hit 25 kilometers northeast of Tulunan at 5:30 a.m. Depth of focus was 19 kilometers. (Eagle News)–There is no tsunami threat to the Philippines, the Philippine Institute of Volcanology and Seismology said. PHIVOLCS issued the advisory after a 6.6-magnitude quake hit Tulunan, Cotabato at 9:04 a.m. The quake took place days after a 6.3-magnitude earthquake struck the province. That earthquake left at least five people dead and several injured. According to PHIVOLCS, Tuesday’s earthquake was the same as the 6.3-magnitude one. “Ang epicenter nito ay sa lupa,” PHIVOLCS said.

The Philippine Institute of Volcanology and Seismology said the quake, of tectonic origin, hit 282 kilometers southwest of Sarangani at 2:43 a.m. Depth of focus was 246 kilometers. The Philippine Institute of Volcanology and Seismology said the quake,an aftershock of the 6.3-magnitude earthquake on Oct. 16, hit 24 kilometers southeast of Tulunan at 5:38 a.m. Depth of focus was 44 kilometers. The Philippine Institute of Volcanology and Seismology said the quake, of tectonic origin, hit 74 kilometers northwest of Laoang at 7:28 a.m. Depth of focus was three kilometers. No damage to property nor aftershocks were recorded.
