4.1-magnitude earthquake strikes off Bohol early Saturday, May 11

(Eagle News)–A 4.1-magnitude earthquake struck off Bohol early Saturday, May 11. The Philippine Institute of Volcanology and Seismology said the quake hit at 3:50 a.m. Its epicenter was five kilometers northeast of Sagbayan. The depth of focus was two kilometers. The following intensities were reported: Intensity IV- Sagbayan, Bohol Intensity III- Batuan, Clarin, and Danao, Bohol Intensity II- Buenavista, Bohol No damage to property nor aftershocks were reported.

4.4-magnitude earthquake strikes off Aurora early Thursday

(Eagle News)–A 4.4-magnitude earthquake struck off Aurora early Thursday, Oct. 5. The Philippine Institute of Volcanology and Seismology said the quake hit at 4:42 a.m. The epicenter was 18 kilometers southeast of Casiguran. The depth of focus was 10 kilometers. No damage to property nor aftershocks were reported.

Lava flow spanning 1.5 kilometers monitored at Mayon: PHIVOLCS

(Eagle News)–A slow lava flow 1.5 kilometers long has been monitored at Mayon, the Philippine Institute of Volcanology and Seismology said on Sunday, June 18. PHIVOLCS said also monitored were three volcanic earthquakes, 274 rockfall events and 11 pyroclastic density current events. Sulfur dioxide flux was pegged at 1004 tons per day. 4.2-magnitude earthquake strikes off Davao Occidental early Friday, Jan. 20

(Eagle News) — A 4.2-magnitude earthquake struck off Davao Occidental early Friday, Jan. 20. The Philippine Institute of Volcanology and Seismology said the quake was an aftershock of the 7.0-magnitude quake reported in the province on Jan. 18. PHIVOLCS said the 4.2-magnitude quake hit at 5 a.m. The epicenter was 288 kilometers southeast of Balut Island. The depth of focus was 19 kilometers. No damage to property nor aftershocks were reported.  

3.6-magnitude earthquake strikes off Davao Oriental

(Eagle News) — A 3.6-magnitude earthquake struck off Davao Oriental on Saturday, Aug. 28. The Philippine Institute of Volcanology and Seismology said the quake was an aftershock of the 7.1-magnitude earthquake that hit Governor Generoso on Aug. 12. The quake’s epicenter was located 121 kilometers southeast of the area. The depth of focus was one kilometer. According to PHIVOLCS, the earthquake was tectonic in origin. No damage to property nor aftershocks were reported.

Number of injured in two Mindanao quakes rises to 432 — NDRRMC

(Eagle News)–A 3.9-magnitude earthquake struck Davao Occidental on Saturday, July 20. The Philippine Institute of Volcanology and Seismology said the quake, of tectonic origin, hit 196 kilometers southeast of Sarangani at 1:29 p.m. Depth of focus was one kilometer. No damage to property nor aftershocks were recorded.
