COMELEC to reopen voters’ registration on October 3

QUEZON City, Philippines – Confident that the Sangguniang Kabataan and barangay elections will be postponed this year, the Commission on Elections post the schedule for the resumption of voters’ registration. The resumption of the voters’ registration will start on October 3 and will last until April 29, 2017. COMELEC to use 2016 budget for 2017 elections

MANILA, Sept. 20 — The Commission on Elections will use the budget originally allocated for the 2016 Barangay and Sangguniang Kabataan elections for 2017. Printed ballots will not be wasted, says Comelec

COMELEC to strictly implement anti-political dynasty law in SK elections

QUEZON City, Philippines (Eagle News) — The Commission on Elections (Comelec) will strictly implement the anti-political dynasty provisions of the Sangguniang Kabataan Reform Act of 2015 in the upcoming SK elections. Candidates for SK must declare if they have any relatives who are in public service. If candidates fail to comply with the provisions, they will be disqualified as well as charged with perjury.
