(Eagle News)–A 5.7-magnitude earthquake struck off Batanes on Sunday, August. 13 The Philippine Institute of Volcanology and Seismology said the quake hit at 9:43 a.m. The epicenter was 38 kilometers southwest of Sabtang. The depth of focus was 10 kilometers. The following instrumental intensity was reported: Intensity I – Pasuquin, Ilocos Norte No damage to property was reported. Aftershocks, however, are expected.

(Eagle News)–A 3.8-magnitude earthquake struck Batanes on Saturday, July 27. The Philippine Institute of Volcanology and Seismology said the quake, of tectonic origin, hit 35 kilometers southeast of Itbayat at 11:19 a.m. It was an aftershock of the 5.9-magnitude earthquake that hit the area earlier in the day. An instrumental intensity II was felt in Basco. No damage to property nor aftershocks were recorded.

(Eagle News)–A 4.4-magnitude earthquake hit Batanes on Monday, April 8. The quake struck 3 kilometers south of Basco at 10:59 a.m., the Philippine Institute of Volcanology and Seismology said. The depth of focus of the quake, which was of tectonic origin, was 16 kilometers. An Intensity IV was felt in Basco, PHIVOLCS said. No damage to property nor aftershocks were expected.
