  (Eagle News)—In these pictures released by the Office of the Chief of the Philippine National Police, PNP Chief Oscar Albayalde is seen visiting the wake of Rep. Rodel Batocabe in Albay. Batocabe was shot as he was about to board his vehicle from a gift-giving activity in Daraga on Saturday, Dec. 22. His bodyguard was also killed. The National Bureau of Investigation has said the killing was “likely politically motivated.”

CAFGU member killed, another injured in Albay shooting incident

(Eagle News) – A member of the Citizen Armed Forces Geographical Unit (CAFGU) was killed, and another was wounded after they were shot at in Albay on Monday. The lone fatality was identified as Arnilo Secretario, 40. Secretario was riding a motorcycle being driven by Jonasis Bonit and was on his way to a road-widening project in Nabua, Camarines Sur when the attack in Barangay Centro Occidental, Polangui took place. Police are still investigating the incident.

PHIVOLCS lowers Mayon alert level status
