SGV having trouble with tangled, torn wristbands

The accounting firm SGV & Co. is having difficulties in getting the exact number of participants at the ongoing INC Worldwide Walk.

In an interview with EBC Reporter Weng dela Fuente, SGV spokesman Leo Maligtas said that their biggest challenges so far were the unprecedented number of people and those whose wristbands keep from sticking together or tearing apart.

Maligtas said they have deployed around 50-70 SGV personnel to supervise and monitor the counting, which was also being conducted by some 200 volunteer INC members.

He noted that they are being “extra cautious” with the wristbands, as they needed to be worn during the walk and dropped in designated boxes at the finish line for them to be included in the count.

Maligtas is however confident that they can finish the count at the designated time.

The official count as of this afternoon was said to be close to 100,000. Various reports have said that the number of people could be as high as 1.5 million.
