In photos: A peek into the LRT Line 2 East Extension project

(Eagle News)–These pictures provided by the Department of Transportation show the Light Rail Transit Line 2 East Extension project. The project, which once completed will cut short to  40 minutes the commute from Antipolo, Rizal to Recto, Manila, has entered its final phase. The DOTr said the project is expected to be completed by the end of 2020.

3.1-magnitude quake jolts Ilocos Sur

(Eagle News)–A 3.1-magnitude earthquake struck Ilocos Sur on Friday, April 19. The Philippine Institute of Volcanology and Seismology said the quake hit 17 kilometers northwest of Sinait at 6:56 a.m. The depth of focus of the quake was 25 kilometers. No damage to property nor aftershocks were expected.

MSF warns of food crisis in southern Ethiopia

Gov’t begins evacuation of Filipino workers from Tripoli, Libya
