DFA: No Filipino hurt in car bomb attack in Benghazi, Libya

(Eagle News)–No Filipino was injured in a car bomb attack outside a shopping mall in  Benghazi, Libya, the Department of Foreign Affairs said on Sunday, Aug. 11. 3.0-magnitude quake hits Occidental Mindoro

(Eagle News)–A 3.0-magnitude earthquake struck Occidental Mindoro on Sunday, Aug. 11. The Philippine Institute of Volcanology and Seismology said the quake, of tectonic origin, hit 27 kilometers southwest of Looc at 5:10 a.m. Depth of focus was 24 kilometers. No damage to property nor aftershocks were recorded.

(Eagle News)–The Philippine Atmospheric Geophysical and Astronomical Services Administration is monitoring an active tropical cyclone outside the Philippine Area of Responsibility. PAGASA said Typhoon “Krosa” was spotted 1945 kilometers east of extreme N. Luzon, packing maximum sustained winds of 120 kilometers per hour near the center and gustiness of up to 175 kilometers per hour. “Krosa,” PAGASA said, is moving northwest slowly. 3.1-magnitude quake hits Surigao del Norte

(Eagle News)–A 3.1-magnitude earthquake struck Surigao del Norte on Saturday, Aug. 10. The Philippine Institute of Volcanology and Seismology said the quake, of tectonic origin, hit 76 kilometers northeast of General Luna at 3:43 p.m. Depth of focus was nine kilometers. No damage to property nor aftershocks were recorded.
