(Eagle News)–A 3.3-magnitude earthquake struck Batanes early Friday, Aug. 23. The Philippine Institute of Volcanology and Seismology said the quake, of tectonic origin, hit 22 kilometers northwest of Itbayat at 1:17 a.m. Depth of focus of the quake was 3 kilometers. No damage to property nor aftershocks were recorded.
