Hurricane Dorian strengthens to Category 2 storm

MIAMI, United States (AFP) — Hurricane Dorian strengthened to a Category 2 storm on Thursday as it barreled toward the US state of Florida, the National Hurricane Center said. 3.0-magnitude quake hits Davao Oriental

(Eagle News)–A 3.0-magnitude earthquake struck Davao Oriental on Friday, Aug. 30. The Philippine Institute of Volcanology and Seismology said the quake, of tectonic origin, hit 50 kilometers southeast of Governor Generoso at 8:19 a.m. Depth of focus of the quake was 130 kilometers. No damage to property nor aftershocks were recorded.
