PHL underemployment rate goes down to 13.9 percent in July

Based on data provided by the Philippine Statistics Authority on Thursday, Sept. 5, the rate is 3.3 percent less than the rate recorded on the same month last year. Duterte to hold bilateral talks with Singaporean leader next week

(Eagle News)–President Rodrigo Duterte is slated to hold talks with Singapore’s first female leader next week. The Department of Foreign Affairs said the bilateral meeting with President Halimah Yacob was scheduled on Sept. 9. This is the second day of Halimah’s five-day visit to the country, which was upon President Duterte’s invitation. Halimah assumed the presidency of Singapore in 2017.

DILG wants convicts released under GCTA law placed on Immigration watchlist

(Eagle News)– The Department of the Interior and Local Government wants the 1700 convicts released under the Good Conduct Time Allowance to be placed on the Immigration watchlist. Inflation eases to 1.7 percent in August, lowest rate since October 2016
