3.5-magnitude quake hits Davao Oriental

(Eagle News) — A 3.5-magnitude earthquake struck Davao Oriental on Tuesday, Feb. 18. The Philippine Institute of Volcanology and Seismology said the quake, which struck at 7:55 p.m., had its epicenter 78 kilometers southeast of Tarragona. Depth of focus was 42 kilometers. No damage to property nor aftershocks were recorded.    

At least 14 dead in apparent toxic gas leak in Pakistan

KARACHI, Pakistan (AFP) — An apparent gas leak killed at least 14 people near the Pakistani port city of Karachi, officials said Tuesday, as investigators worked to determine the source of the deadly emission. Residents of Keamari, a commercial and residential area, began falling sick Sunday, officials said.
