Olongapo court sentences man who confessed to killing businessman Dominic Sytin to prison

(Eagle News) — An Olongapo court has sentenced to prison the man who confessed to the killing of businessman Dominic Sytin.

Branch 72 Judge Richard Paradeza sentenced Edgardo Luib to the supreme penalty of reclusion perpetua for the killing, and to a minimum of six years, one month and 11 days of prision mayor  up to a maximum of 12 years, five months and eleven days reclusion temporal for the near-fatal shooting of Sytin’s bodyguard-driver, Efren Espartero in March.

During his arraignment in August, Luib pleaded guilty to the crimes, which he had said were masterminded by Sytin’s brother, Alan Dennis.

Alan Dennis has denied the allegations.

Apart from Luib, Alan Dennis and Ryan Rementilla have been charged over the crime. With a report from Moira Encina, Eagle News Service
