General Tinio, Nueva Ecija vice mayor takes over slain Mayor Bote’s post

(Eagle News) — General Tinio, Nueva Ecija Vice Mayor Melvin Pascual has been sworn in as the municipality’s new mayor.

Pascual officially took over the post of slain Mayor Ferdinand Bote on Wednesday morning, July 4.

Judge Celso Baguio of Gapan Regional Trial Court Branch 34 administered his oath-taking.

Anna Rouselle Busalpa, the number one councilor, meanwhile, succeeded Pascual’s post as vice mayor.

Bote died after he was shot as he was leaving the National Irrigation Administration in Cabanatuan on Tuesday, July 3.

His killing came a day after Tanauan, Batangas Mayor Antonio Halili was killed as he was presiding the city’s flag-raising ceremony.
