(Eagle News)–President Rodrigo Duterte on Thursday, June 13, met with Senator Manny Pacquiao at his residence in General Santos City, Senator-elect Bong Go said.
According to Go, it was Pacquiao who requested the meeting to consult with the President about which PDP-Laban candidate to field for the speakership.
Party members who are interested in vying for the speakership are Lord Allan Velasco, Pantaleon Alvarez and Aurelio Gonzales Jr.
Alan Peter Cayetano of the Nacionalista Party and Martin Romualdez of the Lakas CMD have also expressed interest in the speakership.
