(Eagle News)–The Aguinaldo-Daang Hari intersection in Imus City, Cavite is officially open.

Public Works Secretary Mark Villar led the opening of the P264-million project which the Department of Public Works and Highways touted as a solution to the congestion in the Aguinaldo Highway – Daanghari Road and nearby Anabu roads leading to the Cavite-Laguna Expressway.

The DPWH said the project will   improve the living standards of the people near the area as it fast-tracks the delivery of goods and services to Imus City and  neighboring Dasmariñas City, and will  cut in half travel time of about 15 to 30 minutes from Daang-Hari Road – the main road to and from thickly populated Cavite and Metro Manila, going to Malagasang-Bucandala-Alapan Road.

The project has a total length of 564 lineal meters.

The project, which was started in March 2016, was implemented by the DPWH Regional Office IV-A together with the Cavite 1st District Engineering Office.

The progress of the work was initially hampered by  right-of-way issues and an accident in the ongoing construction in May 2018 when an error caused the collapse of a part of the project, prompting the need to fabricate new girders.
