(Eagle News)–The Clark International Airport’s new passenger terminal is now over 87 percent complete.

The Department of Transportation said in a statement the 87.61 percent completion rate of the new building was as of Saturday, Nov. 9.

The agency said only the utility building and ancillary facilities, among others, are undergoing various stages of completion.

Once the building is completed by mid-2020, the DOTr said the Clark airport will see a boost in its operational capacity from 4.2 million passengers to 12.2 million passengers annually.

The new building, the DOTr said, will “significantly” improve air connectivity in Luzon and will help decongest the Ninoy Aquino International Airport.
