(Eagle News) – The Cavite provincial government has advised residents of the province to “stay indoors” because of the heavy ashfall being felt in the area due to the ongoing eruption of Taal volcano.

In a tweet, Cavite governor Jonvic Remulla advised the residents in the affected areas to take extra precautions as the ashfall if inhaled could lead to respiratory disorders.

“Due to the heavy ash fall being experienced in Cavite, it is best for everybody to stay indoors. The ash fall may result in respiratory disorders. Mga magulang, ingatan po natin ang ating mga anak,” Remulla said.

The Cavite provincial government also suspended classes in all levels on Monday, Jan. 13.

The public in affected areas is also advised to close all doors and windows, and to wear masks and goggles or any eye protection if “it is necessary to go outside.”
