(Eagle News) — The fire that hit a Cebu mall has finally been put out. Firefighters declared the blaze that hit Cebu Metro Ayala was declared out at 4:18 p.m. on Monday, more than two days after it broke out. The mall management earlier said that the fire started in a stockroom at 9:48 p.m. No one was reported injured.

(Eagle News) — The fire that hit a mall in Cebu has been declared under control. Firefighters said that the blaze that hit the Ayala Metro Mall was placed under control past noon on Sunday. It has been almost two days since the fire started at the stockroom of the toy department. The fire started at 9:30 p.m. on Friday. There were no reported injuries so far.

CA clears Joel Reyes in environmentalist’s murder; frees former Palawan governor from jail
(Eagle News)– Former Palawan Governor Joel Reyes has been released from jail. This was after the Court of Appeals ruled that the regional trial court had erred in filing the murder complaint against him. The complaint was in connection with the death of environmentalist Gerry Ortega in 2011. (Eagle News) — A 4.1-magnitude earthquake hit Davao Occidental on Thursday morning. The Philippine Institute of Volcanology and Seismology said the earthquake struck 186 kilometers southeast of Sarangani at 6:41 a.m. The quake was tectonic in origin.
