Taxi groups raise petition for return of Php 40 flag-down rate

QUEZON City, Philippines (Eagle News) — The Philippine National Taxi Operators Association will petition the Land Transportation Franchising and Regulatory Board (LTFRB) to return the taxi flag-down rate to PHP 40.00 due to the oil price hike.  The current flag down rate is P30.  The group is also asking for a PHP 5.00 increase for the additional rate every 2 minutes waiting time. https://youtu.be/C4JZt1BlBDY

Martial Law “victim” claims processing done by 2017

(Eagle News)– The Human Rights Victims’ Claims Board (HRVCB) announced on Wednesday that the reviewing of claims for compensation from Martial Law victims will be finished next year. HRVCB Chairperson Lina Sarmiento said they already cross-checked 17,000 out of 75,000 applications. The board has until May 12, 2018 to finish processing the compensation for Martial Law victims.
