Number of poor Filipinos goes down – PSA study

QUEZON City, Philippines – The government’s anti-poverty measures are bearing fruit. According to the latest study of the Philippine Statistics Authority, there are fewer poor Filipinos in 2015. There is a 21.6% poverty incidence last year, lower by 4.7% compared to the poverty threshold in 2009. The percentage surpassed the government’s target for 2015.

US aid during calamities should be considered before EDCA abrogation

QUEZON City, Philippines – The senate opposition is asking President Rodrigo Duterte to consider carefully before totally abrogating the Enhanced Defense Cooperation Agreement (EDCA) between the Philippines and the United States.
