5.4-magnitude quake jolts Zamboanga del Norte
(Eagle News)–A 5.4-magnitude earthquake struck Zamboanga del Norte on Monday, Jan. 7. The Philippine Institute of Volcanology and Seismology said the quake struck 22 kilometers northwest of Baliguian, Zamboanga del Norte at 11:11 a.m. Intensity IV was felt in Zamboanga City, PHIVOLCS said. The quake, which had a depth of focus of 35 kilometers, was tectonic in origin. No aftershocks were expected.
