(Eagle News)–Tropical Depression “Quiel” has entered the Philippine Area of Responsibility. Inflation further eases to 0.8 percent in October

(Eagle News)–Inflation eased further to 0.8 percent in October, the lowest recorded since May 2016. The Philippine Statistics Authority said the October rating was lower than the 0.9 percent recorded in September, and the one recorded in October 2018 or 6.7 percent. The PSA said the downtrend was mainly due to the 0.9 percent annual drop registered in the heavily-weighted food and non-alcoholic beverages index. PAGASA said a tropical depression was spotted 610 kilometers west southwest of Iba, Zambales, packing maximum sustained winds of 45 kilometers per hour near the center and gustiness of up to 55 kph. (Eagle News) — Classes were suspended in at least one area on Tuesday, Nov. 5, following the series of earthquakes that rocked Mindanao: Koronadal City — all levels, public and private schools A 6.5-magnitude earthquake rocked Mindanao on Thursday, Oct. 31, only two days after a 6.6-magnitude one hit the region. The National Disaster Risk Reduction and Management Office said at least 21 people have been killed in the two earthquakes.
