President Duterte directs gov’t officials to “work on resumption of peace talks” with Communist rebels

(Eagle News)–President Rodrigo Duterte has ordered government officials to “work on the resumption of peace talks” with Communist rebels. Peace Secretary Jesus Dureza said the President gave “clear instructions on the importance of forging a ceasefire agreement to stop mutual attacks and fighting while talks are underway.” Let’s give this another chance, President Duterte reportedly said. According to Dureza, the President also committed to provide support, if necessary, to ensure that “revolutionary tax” was stopped.
