Camarines Sur suspends classes from Jan. 3 to Jan. 6

Classes to resume on Jan. 7

(Eagle News)—Camarines Sur has declared a province-wide suspension of classes starting Jan. 3, following its declaration of a state of calamity due to the effects of “Usman.”

Governor Luis Villafuerte said the suspension, which applies to all levels, was to “ensure the safety of everyone, especially of schoolchildren, and to give more time to their families to recover from the recent typhoon.”

He said classes will resume on Jan. 7.

Tropical Depression “Usman” made landfall over Eastern Samar last weekend.

It, however, weakened into a low pressure area upon landfall.
