(Eagle News) — At least three people were confirmed dead after a landslide buried several houses in Naga City in Cebu on Thursday, Sept. 20.
Chief Inspector Roderick Gonzales of the Naga Philippine National Police said in an interview over radio dzbb that 20 to 25 houses were affected in Tinaan.
Ten houses, he said, were affected in Naalad.
At press time, authorities were still conducting rescue operations for possible survivors.
The landslide in Cebu took place after a landslide that is being blamed on mining operations claimed at least 30 lives in Itogon, Benguet at the height of Typhoon “Ompong.”
“Ompong” entered the Philippine Area of Responsibility early Saturday, Sept. 15, and exited PAR later that night.
