At least four kidnap victims rescued in Zamboanga del Norte

(Eagle News)– At least four kidnap victims have been rescued by the military in Zamboanga del Norte.

The Western Mindanao Command said Roger Jung-an, Jomar Maglangit, Jomar Mantangan, and Raymond Purisima, who were held captive for nine days, were rescued in Sirawai, at 3 p.m.

Major General Roseller Murillo, commander of the Joint Task Force Zampelan, said there were initially five hostages but “one of them was hit in the crossfire during an encounter between our soldiers and their captors last March 7.”

The four, he said, were left by the group of a certain Jamilon Wahab after “panick(ing) aside from becoming weary with ongoing pursuit operations.”

WestMinCom head Lieutenant General Carlito Galvez, Jr., said authorities were  on the trail of  the kidnappers.

“Let this be a warning to anyone or any group who are planning to engage in any criminal activities. We will fix you and we will eventually get you,” he said.
