(Eagle News)–Communications Secretary Martin Andanar has ordered a probe into the shooting of broadcaster and public information officer Pat Lucero Pacquiao in Davao del Norte.
In a statement, Andanar also condemned the ambush, and wished for the swift recovery of Pacquiao who was shot in the shoulder when attacked in front of his house on Oct. 11.
“(The Philippine Communications Operations Office) condemns any act that threatens the well-being of media practitioners simply for doing their job of informing the public,” Andanar said.
According to Andanar, the PCOO “is dedicated to creating an environment that fosters press freedom and where the media can work free of harm.”
“We are enjoining the authorities in Davao del Norte to closely investigate the shooting..and to quickly look for the suspects who committed the crime,” he said.
