
(Eagle News)— A magnitude 5 quake shook Catanduanes early Friday, March 20, with expected aftershocks, according to the Philippine Institute of Volcanology and Seismology (PHIVOLCS).
The quake of tectonic origin had a depth of 18 kilometers and occurred 75 kilometers northwest of Pandan, Catanduanes at 4:08 a.m., Friday.
It was felt at intensity 2 in Paracale, Camarines Norte, and in Bula, Camarines Sur.
Instrumental intensities were recorded as follows:
Intensity II – Iriga City and Pili, Camarines Sur; Jose Panganiban, Camarines Norte
Intensity I – Mauban, Quezon
In its bulletin issued at 4:34 a.m. Friday, Phivolcs said there is no expected damage from the quake, but aftershocks are expected.
