4.2 magnitude quake hits Sarangani, Davao Oriental

(Eagle News) — A magnitude 4.2 earthquake hit the province of Sarangani, Davao Oriental on Tuesday dawn, Nov. 27, according to the Philippine Institute of Volcanology and Seismology (PHIVOLCS).

The quake’s epicenter was located at 374 kilometers southeast of Sarangani (02.89°N, 127.69°E – 374 km S 41° E). It had a depth of 160 kilometers and was tectonic in origin.

Meanwhile, a magnitude 3.0 quake also rattled Governor Generoso, Davao Oriental at 3:48 am.

The quake was recorded at 40 kilometers southeast of Governor Genoroso (06.30°N, 126.14°E – 040 km S 11° E) with a depth of 60 kilometers.

The quake was tectonic in origin. No intensities were, however, recorded, PHIVOLCS said.

There was no aftershock or any reported damaged during the two quakes.
