NBI arrests fake PDEA agent in Cainta, Rizal

(Eagle News) — The National Bureau of Investigation has arrested a woman believed to be part of a group whose members pose as agents of the Philippine Drug Enforcement Agency for extortion activities.

NBI Deputy Director Ferdinand Lavin said Jai Sunshine Chua was arrested in an operation in Cainta, Rizal, on March 9.

Posing as PDEA agents, Chua and her alleged nine cohorts identified as JR Ordonez, Anthony Ordonez, Michael Corpuz, Junjun Patawi,  Ryan Bonn Singson dela Cruz, Glenn Santiago, Aristotle Tutaan Quitania, Patrick Amit, and Hernando Llaguno kidnapped a man in Ususan, Taguig on Feb. 4, Lavin said.

The NBI said the group–which operates in Taguig and Rizal—demanded a payment of P50,000 from the man’s wife.

“..If you do not agree to their demands, then they will plant illegal drugs with you. That’s how the extortion happens,” Lavin said.

Chua faces charges for kidnapping, robbery, usurpation of authority, among others.
