16 police officials removed from duty for failing to stop illegal gambling

QUEZON City, Philippines – Sixteen police officials of the Philippine National Police were removed from duty for failing to stop illegal gambling in their jurisdiction.

Six chiefs of the Southern Tagalog Police; five chiefs from Bicol; two others in Central Mindanao, and one each in Western Visayas, Southern Mindanao and CaRaGa were sacked.

According to the records of the PNP National Operations Center, 6,600 individuals who are involved in illegal gambling were arrested since January 1 this year.
