4.4-magnitude quake strikes off Davao Oriental

(Eagle News) — A 4.4-magnitude earthquake struck off Davao Oriental on Tuesday, Oct. 12.

The Philippine Institute of Volcanology and Seismology said the quake that hit at 7:30 a.m. was an aftershock of the Aug. 12 earthquake in the area.

Tuesday’s earthquake had its epicenter 142 kilometers southeast of Governor Generoso.

The depth of focus was 56 kilometers.

According to PHIVOLCS, the earthquake was of tectonic origin.

No damage to property nor aftershocks were reported.
