3 consecutive minor quakes rattle Ilocos Norte

(Eagle News) — Three consecutive minor quakes were felt in Ilocos Norte on Tuesday dawn, June 19.

The strongest of the three was a magnitude 4.3 quake that was recorded at 2:13 AM and was tectonic in origin, according to data from the Philippine Institute of Volcanology and Seismology.

The quake’s epicenter, located 10 kilometers east of Burgos, Ilocos Norte, was 26 kilometers deep.

It was was felt at intensity 2 in Laog City, and at intensity 4 in Burgos, Ilocos Norte.

This was followed closely by a 3.6 magnitude quake east of Barangay Adams, Ilocos Norte, recorded at 2:34 AM.

The third quake was recorded at magnitude 3.0 also in Brgy. Adams at 2:53 AM.

No damages and aftershocks were reported.
