Arestado sa operasyon ng pinagsanib-pwersa ng Criminal Investigation and Detection Group-National Capital Region (CIDG-NCR), Intelligence Service of the Armed Forces of the Philippines (ISAFP) at Calabarzon Police ang dalawang hinihinalang miyembro ng Rahaj Sulayman Movement na umano’y konektado sa grupong ISIS Philippines.
Kinilala ang dalawang suspek na sina Jimuel Velasco aka Amir at Eddie Boy Alejo Bermejo aka Abdullah.
Inaresto ang dalawa sa bisa ng search warrant sa Barangay Mamatid, Cabuyao City at Sta. Rosa, Laguna.
“Actually, wala tayong nakuhang plano although they are already a subject of our surveillance ever since. Ang mga ito ay identified as members of local threat groups who have pledged allegiance to ISIS kaya they were all subjected for our case buildup and surveillance operations,” ayon kay Police Director General Oscar Albayalde, hepe ng PNP.
Nabawi sa dalawang suspek ang iba’t ibang kalibre ng baril, granada at improvised explosive device.
Nabawi rin sa kanila ang isang flag ng ISIS.
“This is an indication that our law enforcers and our Armed Forces of the Philippines and intelligence operatives are doing their job. This is part of our target hardening measures, part of our proactive measures to prevent terror attacks particularly here in Metro Manila,” ani Albayalde.
Kumpyansa naman si Albayalde na matibay ang kaso laban sa dalawa.
Samantala, patuloy namang sumasailalim sa interogasyon ang dalawang suspek na nahaharap sa kasong illegal possession of firearms and explosives.
