(Eagle News) — Former Philippine Basketball Association player Mark Cardona was arrested on Saturday, May 5, after he allegedly injured his live-in partner using a bladed weapon.
Cardona was nabbed by the Makati police after they were informed by Bianca Nicole Jackes that it was he who stabbed her in the left arm during a heated argument in their condominium unit in Barangay San Antonio past 5 a.m.
Jackes allegedly gave the information during the policemen’s interview with her at the Makati Medical Center where she had been rushed for treatment.
Cardona was hospitalized in 2016 after what was reported to be a suicide attempt.
Cardona, who was named the Rookie of the Year while he played for the Dela Salle Green Archers in 2001, was drafted in the PBA in 2005.
