3 QC policemen relieved over alleged extortion from drug suspect; 3 police officials sacked for command responsibility

(Eagle News) — Three policemen were relieved from their posts on Thursday after a man arrested for extorting P15,000 from a drug suspect accused them of being the brains behind his act, while their three superiors were relieved for command responsibility.

Relieved by Quezon City Police District director Guillermo Eleazar on Thursday were SP03 Mario Samoy, head of the Drug Enforcement Unit of Quezon City Police District Station 5; and his men, P03 Henry Tingle and P01 Marlon Fajardo, whom Joseph Ruallo accused of asking him to extort the money from the drug suspect.

Ruallo, a driver, was arrested in an entrapment operation by members of the Philippine National Police-Counter-Intelligence Task Force.

The PNP-CITF also confiscated some marked money and a .45 cal. pistol from Ruallo.

Eleazar also relieved Supt. Bobby Glen Ganipac, head of QCPD Station 5;  Chief Insp. Severino Busa, DEU head; and Ruallo’s employer, Supt. Bobby Glen Ganipac.

The policemen are facing an investigation.
