(Eagle News)–Over 100 people were killed and more than 70 were injured after Tropical Depression “Usman” hit the country. Duterte wants road user’s tax used for rehab of Usman-hit Bicol

(Eagle News)–The number of fatalities due to Tropical Depression “Usman” has risen to over 100. According to the latest report of the National Disaster Risk Reduction and Management Council, of the fatalities, 105 were recorded in Bicol, 18 in Albay, 15 in Camarines Norte, eight in Sorsogon and seven in Masbate. (Eagle News)–Almost 5000 people were affected by Tropical Depression “Usman” in Regions V and VIII, the National Disaster Risk Reduction and Management Council said on Sunday, Dec. 30. According to the NDRRMC,  the 4,906 persons translate to 1,274 families. (Eagle News)—Over 15,000 people have been reported stranded in ports across the country due to Tropical Depression “Usman,” the Philippine Coast Guard said. According to the PCG, of the 15788 stranded as of 4 a.m. on Friday, Dec. 28, 1049 came from the National Capital Region-Central Luzon; 1164 from Central Visayas; 1733 from southern Tagalog; 942 from Western Visayas; 5,047 from Bicol; 5017 from Eastern Visayas; 453 from Northern Mindanao; and 383 from Southern Visayas.
