Duterte to visit landslide-hit Itogon, Benguet

(Eagle News)–President Rodrigo Duterte is slated to visit Itogon, Benguet where a landslide that buried a chapel claimed at least 33 lives. Duterte will reportedly make the visit on Tuesday, Sept. 18. Earlier, Duterte made an aerial inspection of areas affected by “Ompong,” which make landfall in northern Luzon. “Ompong” left the Philippine Area of Responsibility on Saturday.

Tolentino: No casualties in Isabela, Cagayan so far even if “Ompong” made landfall there

Typhoon “Ompong” exits PAR

(Eagle News)–Typhoon “Ompong” has exited the Philippine Area of Responsibility. In its official Twitter page, the Philippine Atmospheric Geophysical and Astronomical Services Administration said “Ompong” left PAR as of 9 p.m. It said the typhoon was last spotted 355 kilometers west of Calayan, Cagayan and is now headed toward southern China.
