(Eagle News)–The low pressure area spotted east of Virac, Catanduanes has developed into a tropical depression. LPA spotted off E. Samar; southwest monsoon affects S. Luzon, Visayas

(Eagle News)–A low pressure area has been spotted off Eastern Samar, the Philippine Atmospheric Geophysical and Astronomical Services Administration said. According to PAGASA, the LPA was seen 770 kilometers east of Guiuan at 3 a.m. today. The southwest monsoon is also affecting Southern Luzon and Visayas, the weather bureau said. Thunderstorm advisory hoisted over Batanes, Nueva Ecija

(Eagle News)–A thunderstorm advisory has been hoisted over Batanes and Nueva Ecija. The Philippine Atmospheric Geophysical and Astronomical Services Administration said moderate to heavy rainshowers with lightning and strong winds are expected over the provinces within the next 2 hours. “All are advised to take precautionary measures against the impacts associated with these hazards which include flash floods and landslides,” PAGASA said. “Keep monitoring for updates,” it added.
