(Eagle News)–In these pictures taken by Eagle News reporter Moira Encina, Department of Justice employees are seen waiting outside the building after an earthquake was felt in the premises. The Philippine Institute of Volcanology and Seismology said a 5.7-magnitude quake hit Zambales at 5:11 p.m. An Intensity V was felt in San Felipe, Zambales and in Quezon City, PHIVOLCS said.

3.0-magnitude earthquake jolts Surigao del Norte

(Eagle News)–A 3.0-magnitude earthquake struck Surigao del Norte on Monday, April 22. The quake, which was of tectonic origin, hit 66 kilometers southeast of General Luna at 4:31 p.m., the Philippine Institute of Volcanology and Seismology said. PHIVOLCS said the depth of focus of the quake was 13 kilometers. No damage to property nor aftershocks were reported.  

JUST IN: 3.5-magnitude quake hits Davao Oriental

(Eagle News)–A 3.5-magnitude earthquake struck Davao Oriental on Friday, April 19. The Philippine Institute of Volcanology and Seismology said the quake hit 20 kilometers southwest of Governor Generoso at 3:08 p.m. The quake, which was of tectonic origin, had a depth of focus of 158 kilometers. No damage to property nor aftershocks were expected.

4.0-magnitude quake jolts Sarangani

(Eagle News)—A 4.0-magnitude quake struck Sarangani on Thursday, April 18. The Philippine Institute of Volcanology and Seismology said the quake hit 54 kilometers southwest of Kiamba at 7 p.m. The depth of focus of the quake, which was of tectonic origin, was 16 kilometers. Strong 6.8 quake hits off eastern Indonesia, tsunami warning issued

  JAKARTA, Indonesia (AFP) — A strong 6.8 magnitude earthquake rocked eastern Indonesia Friday, the United States Geological Survey said, triggering a tsunami warning and sending panicked residents fleeing from their homes. 6.1 magnitude quake hits northeast of Miyako, Honshu island in Japan

  (Eagle News) – A 6.1 magnitude quake rocked northeast Japan, particularly 144 kilometers northeast of Miyako in Iwate Prefecture on Honshu island, on Thursday, April 11, according to the US Geological Survey. The quake had a depth of 12.2 kilometers, and was 133 kilometers from Kuji, Iwate, Japan, the USGS said. There were so far no reports of damage or casualties. The quake struck 8:18 a.m. UTC time or 4:18 p.m. Philippine time.

2.3-magnitude quake hits Surigao del Norte

(Eagle News)–A 2.3-magnitude earthquake struck Surigao del Norte on Thursday, April 11. The Philippine Institute of Volcanology and Seismology said the quake hit 11 kilometers northeast of General Luna at 5:30 a.m. The quake, of tectonic origin, has a depth of focus of 23 kilometers. No damage to property nor aftershocks were expected.

2.0-magnitude quake hits N. Samar

(Eagle News)—A 2.0-magnitude earthquake struck Northern Samar on Sunday, April 7. The Philippine Institute of Volcanology and Seismology said the quake hit 12 kilometers northwest of Maydolong at 7:33 a.m. The depth of focus of the quake, which is of tectonic origin, was 19 kilometers. No damage to property nor aftershocks were expected.  

5.2-magnitude quake shakes Greece

  ATHENS, Greece (AFP) — A 5.2-magnitude quake jolted central Greece on Saturday, the country’s civil protection said, with no immediate reports of damage. The quake had a depth of around 14 kilometres (8.6 miles) and an epicentre near the town of Galaxidi in the Gulf of Corinth, some 200 kilometres (320 miles) northwest of the Greek capital, the authority said. At least two dead and dozens injured after Indonesia quake

MATARAM, Indonesia (AFP) — At least two people were killed and dozens injured Sunday after an earthquake on the Indonesian tourist island of Lombok triggered a landslide, officials said. The Philippine Institute of Volcanology and Seismology said the quake hit 59 kilometers northeast of Baganga at 2:03 a.m. Depth of focus of the earthquake, which was tectonic in origin, was 15 kilometers. No damage nor aftershocks were expected.
