Philippines-U.S. bilateral exercise balikatan begins with community projects in Albay

The Philippines-United States Balikatan exercise begins today. The military forces started the first phase by conducting preliminary work on community infrastructure projects in Legaspi City, Albay. The exercise aims to train military personnel of both countries to provide relief and assistance in the event of natural disasters and other crises that endanger public health and safety.

California senator charged with corruption and gun smuggling

A senator in California was arrested for gun smuggling for his activities the United States and the Philippines. The Federal Bureau of Investigation arrested Democratic State Senator Leland Yee.  He was also charged with corruption and conspiring to import and traffic firearms.
