Valenzuela court upholds dismissal of P6.4-billion shabu shipment case

(Eagle News) — The Valenzuela Regional Trial Court has upheld its previous decision junking the charges filed against several individuals implicated in last year’s entry of P6.4-billion worth of illegal drugs from China. Duterte appoints new BOC assistant commissioner

(Eagle News) — The Bureau of Customs has a new assistant commissioner. President Rodrigo Duterte appointed  Vincent Philip Maronilla to the post previously held by Ariel Nepomuceno. Nepomuceno resigned in March. Maronilla and several other Customs officials were implicated in the P6.4-billion shabu shipment mess in May but were cleared by a Department of Justice panel of prosecutors for lack of probable cause.  

BOC urges DOJ to file smuggling raps vs Taguba, several others

(Eagle News) — The Bureau of Customs on Thursday urged the Department of Justice to file smuggling charges against Mark Taguba and several others in connection with the P6.4-billion shabu mess.
