U.S. government announces additional assistance for families displaced by typhoon Ompong

The U.S. government announced Php37.3 million in new assistance for families affected by Typhoon Ompong in Benguet and Cagayan provinces.  This brings the total U.S. government funding in response to Typhoon Ompong to Php42.5 million. (Eagle News) — At least three people were confirmed dead after a landslide buried several houses in Naga City in Cebu on Thursday, Sept. 20. Chief Inspector Roderick Gonzales of the Naga Philippine National Police said in an interview over radio dzbb that 20 to 25 houses were affected in Tinaan. US to provide aid to typhoon-hit Cagayan

(Eagle News)–The United States announced it was extending aid  to the victims of Typhoon “Ompong” in  Cagayan, one of the hardest-hit areas. The aid, to be coursed through the US Agency for International Development and a local non-government organization, is in the form of hygiene supplies for 5500 people who lost their homes.           (Eagle News) — The Iglesia Ni Cristo is currently conducting its relief distribution program, Lingap sa Mamamayan, to help those affected by typhoon Ompong (Mangkhut) in Itogon, Benguet which was hit by massive landslides that killed at least 19 people, and buried about 40 others which are still missing. Itogon mayor says wife stopped gold-buying business early this year
