Duterte: New airports to be built in Sangley Point, Bulacan

(Eagle News) — There will be new airports in Sangley Point and Bulacan. This is according to President Rodrigo Duterte himself, who spoke with Presidential Legal Counsel Salvador Panelo in a nationally televised tête-à-tête on Tuesday, Sept. 11. Duterte did not provide details. He earlier said, however, that there was a need to decongest the existing airports.

Monreal: Xiamen Air liability due to NAIA mishap now at P33 million

(Eagle News) — The liability of Xiamen Air has ballooned to P33 million. This is according to  Manila International Airport Authority general manager Ed Monreal, who spoke during Wednesday’s hearing conducted by the Senate committee on public services on the incident. According to Monreal, the figure represents the cost of removing Xiamen Air flight MF8667 from Runway 06/24. The plane skidded off the runway on Aug. 16, prompting flight cancellations.
