Palace suspends gov’t work in regions affected by typhoon ‘Lando’

MANILA, Oct. 19 (PNA) – Malacañang has suspended government work in the regions heavily affected by typhoon “Lando.” According to the memorandum issued by Executive Secretary Paquito Ochoa Jr. Sunday night, the government work is suspended in Regions 1, 2, 3 and Cordillera Administrative Region (CAR). Several fishermen missing as “Kabayan” leaves

According to the National Disaster Risk Reduction and Management Council (NDRRMC), 26 fishermen are still missing 2 days after “Kabayan” left the Philippine area of responsibility. The NDRRMC records 4, 500 families were affected in the storm’s rampage in six provinces in Luzon with 1, 300 families staying in evacuation centers. Typhoon Ineng to be outside country Monday morning, leaves 14 people dead

(Eagle News) – Typhoon Ineng (international name: Goni) has maintained its strength as it continued to move away from the country, and is forecast to be outside the Philippine Area of Responsibility (PAR) by Monday morning. Malacañang said it supports a United Nations initiative raising awareness on disasters to make vulnerable communities much safer. 113,000 residents evacuated because of typhoon “Amang”; typhoon now a mere LPA

More than 113,000 residents of Bicol and Eastern Visayas were evacuated from their homes because of typhoon Amang, international name Mekkhala. According to the National Disaster Risk Reduction and Management Council (NDRRMC), a total of 20,695 families or 113,160 persons were evacuated in the provinces of Albay, Catanduanes, Sorsogon, Camarines Norte, Camarines Sur, Leyte, Biliran, Eastern Samar, and Samar. Latest death toll at 19

According to the National Disaster Risk Reduction and Management Council, the death toll due to typhoon “Ruby” now stands at nineteen, with more than 900 injured and 3 million displaced by the said typhoon.

NDRRMC corrects death toll

The National Disaster Risk Reduction and Management Council corrected its official death toll from 19 to 18, wherein it said that one of the names was listed twice. Aside from the deaths,at least 916 people were recorded injured due to typhoon ‘Ruby”.
