(Eagle News)–The Department of Justice will probe the shooting of a broadcaster in Sultan Kudarat earlier this week. Justice Secretary Menardo Guevarra said the agency would “take on (the) case” of Benjie Abdul Caballero, who is in critical condition after he was shot by two men on board a motorcycle in Tacurong. Oversight team established to focus on media killings

QUEZON CITY, Philippines (Eagle News) — The Presidential Task Force Against Media Killings will form a special oversight team composed of investigators and prosecutors to focus on media killings and to investigate threats against media workers. Spokesman: “Duterte does not intend endorse media killings”

Incoming presidential spokesperson, Attorney Salvador Panelo clarified that president-elect Rodrigo Duterte did not intend to endorse media killings. In an interview, Panelo reiterated that Duterte is against all illegal killings.
