DOLE to employers: Observe pay rules for work rendered on May 14

(Eagle News) – The Department of Labor and Employment (DOLE) has reminded employers to strictly observe “pay rules” for workers for the May 14 special non-working holiday. The reminder was contained in Labor Advisory No. 8 Series of 2018 issued by DOLE Undersecretary Ciriaco Lagunzad. PNP: Almost 8,000 barangays classified as election hotspots

(Eagle News) – The Philippine National Police said so far, almost 8000 barangays were included in its list of election hotspots. PNP Spokesperson Chief Superintendent John Bulalacao said that as of May 6, 2018, the 7,915 barangays were in that category because of the presence of election-related violence.
