Mosquitoes more attracted to already-infected blood

Lack of funds threatens malaria progress: WHO

LONDON, United Kingdom (AFP) — Global progress on controlling malaria risks stalling due to an “urgent need” for more funding, the World Health Organization (WHO) warned in its annual report Tuesday. Countries agree to be malaria free

GENEVA, Switzerland (Eagle News) – According to the World Health Organization, member countries agreed to eradicate malaria by 2030. Said agreement came about in an assembly held at Geneva, Switzerland. Said agreement targets to lower malaria cases by 40% in 2020 and by 90% in 2030. New malaria parasite enters Southeast Asia

A new strain of malaria, one that is drug-resistant, has been spotted in Southeast Asia, with the Philippines already preparing for said disease. The Department of Health is currently disseminating information about this new malaria strain, further adding the 50% of the provinces are already malaria free.
